Mary Buirgy enters the jazz scene
with a remarkably smooth and mellow voice. Listening to Mary’s
style you will hear an undercurrent of blues, which she says is due
to the artists that have influenced her singing most: Ella Fitzgerald,
Etta James, B. B. King, and Sarah Vaughn. Other influences include
Kate Wolf, James Taylor, Patsy Cline, and Stevie Ray Vaughn. This
diversity of artists and styles reflects her broad musical tastes.
Mary has been performing jazz in the
northern Colorado region since 2000. She credits her development as
a jazz vocalist to the musicians she has had the privilege of playing
with including Mark Sloniker, Jason Hollar, Andrew Vogt and Mark Raynes
who are all featured on her first CD, Beautiful
Love.
